Only Digital Output available #134

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. unplug headphones
2. can't change volume because digital output is the only option

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I need to be able to select internal speakers when headphones are not plugged 
in.  I see digital output instead. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6.2 on 10.6.8

Please provide any additional information below.
I was able to fix this on the other identical iMac but uninstalling and 
re-installing soundflower
