Feature Req: sounds / sounding options #192

Having a number of different sounds to choose from would be really handy, as would custom notification sounds for specific users or groups. Having an option to mute sound/vibe when the app is focused would be a big bonus.

Right on the tail of sound support would be the ability to mute notifications if they come too fast (say 3 in 5 seconds, mute for 30s or a minute) but only for the "noisy" contact. If someone's typing up a storm I don't need a sound for each of their messages, but if someone new wants to say something to me I'd like to hear the sound on their first message to me.

Google's hangouts app has a really nice feature where I can manually mute notifications for an hour or 8 hours. I've really grown to appreciate that.

Some way to add custom sounds would be nice too. On iOS there's the "app data area" that would work well.

This is an interesting idea, so I'll leave it open, but there is no timeline for such a feature

The one feature of Trillian that almost makes me consider using it is that it play a sound upon message receipt, but offers the option to mute when conversation is active. Would love to see that ability.

If the ChatSecure app is not active, the alert shows at the top and a sound is played, which is great. If the app is active, and a conversation is displayed, if someone sends me a message, the message appears but there is no audible notification, so if I'm not looking directly at the screen, I don't know that I've received a response.
