Very Slow Rendering Speed on curvycorners.net #56

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. visiting curvycorners.net
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Rendering is beautiful, but runs incredibly slow on a reasonably averagely old
pc - the
curveyness only kicks in a full 10 seconds after pageload. WHich is too slow to
be useable. This
is looking at your site, not any of mine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.04, windows XP (doze is for testing.. not real life..yetch!)

Please provide any additional information below.
Is there a speedier upgrade on the horizon? I'd kill, (or even pay) to make
this usable.

Pls note - I posted this on your front page previously, but noticed later your
notice re support
being elsewhere.. THanks - please keep up the good work so it becomes usable.

Unfortunately, as higher and higher demands are made of the script to deal with
more
exotic operating conditions, it will inevitably run slower in future releases -
although only fractionally.

The chief culprit in all this is IE, which runs javascript about 10 times
slower than
any other browser. We always code to run as fast as possible: take that as
read. But
there is inevitably a quality/speed trade-off.

One suggestion: edit the code internally to turn off anti-aliasing.

Thank you for taking the trouble to report this issue, which is sympathetically
noted. We note your preference for killing over paying: theologically speaking,
we
have to point out that whilst killing is probably the best long-term solution,
it
likely brings the worst long-term results! What a bind we are all in.
