Scaling Issues on High Resolution Monitor #19

Closed ForeverFloating closed 4 years ago

ForeverFloating commented 4 years ago

Describe the bug The add-on is scaled extremely small and it is hard for me to read clearly what the buttons on the top of the interface are.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Change native screen resolution to 3840 x 2160 and Scale and Layout to 250%.
  2. Click on the Chemistry Ribbon
  3. Click on "Edit"
  4. See screenshots below

Expected behavior The menu and editing screen has consistent, readable scaling.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue.

The screens you have shown are from version 3 of the Add-In and should have been reported in the V3 repository.

The buttons at the top of the edit screen are coming from an third party editor which we embedd in the form. Sadly we cannot change the size of the buttons.

We are also aware of the issue with the Edit labels screen. For V3.1 we have written our own Structure Editor and redesigned the Labels Editor so that they work properly on high DPI screens when the user has applied scaling of greater than 100%.

We are not actively developing V3, we are very close to a Beta release of V3.1 We expect to be releasing this in early 2020, so not long to wait.

If you wish to be on the list of Beta testers please send an email to info@chem4word.co.uk with the title "Beta Testing"

/Mike

This issue has now been moved into the correct repository

@ForeverFloating please bear with us on this and if you can help with V3.1 beta testing this will be great.

This is what the new version does with a monitor running at 150% scaling with 3840x2160 resolution:

The new editor copes well at the same scaling and resolution: image
