Hi, I am developping the app.

I have not finished it yet but in the guidelines it says to notify by an issue when the app support editing an item.

I already have extended the requirements by implementing persistency using an SQLite database based on an ORM system: ActiveAndroid as I explain at the bottom of the README.

If you prefer I will send you /cc @codepathreview @codepath another issue as soon as I add all the features that I have in mind.

Kind regards.

Thanks for sending this along. I wanted to check, where are you currently living?

The reason I ask is if you do not live in the bay area, I'd be happy to give you access to the course self-paced as a remote observer so you can work on the projects on your own time and work alongside other remote observers learning at your own pace.

Hello @nesquena ( /cc @codepathreview @codepath) I have updated the app with new features.

I am living now in Madrid, Spain. I quitted my job three months ago to start new projects related with Android and others by my own. Hence, I have total availability to move to San Francisco. In fact, I'm willing for an opportunity to move to California to start working there. To me this is an excellent situation to land there, learn Android within top edge companies, meet people of the sector and know projects where my skills in Android, JAVA, or C can suit.

For those reasons, don't hesitate about my candidature for not being already there, because I would take an airplane tomorrow if it would be necessary. I find this, like a one-time-in-life opportunity.

I hope you find interesting the app that I uploaded and my profile.

Kind regards, Jose Luis Martin

Jose,

Thanks for the explanation, that's quite a commitment to fly out here but we have had a few others do so successfully. We'd like to chat with you over a phone call sometime soon, instructions for scheduling are below.

The project looks good, this exercise is intended in part to give you an introduction to the general rhythm of this course. The course is entirely project-based with an app being assigned each week and then due the following week. Each project builds on the last to help each engineer learn the practical elements of Android development and best practices as quickly as possible. We also do a code review for each submitted project once the program begins.

Great to see you were able to complete several extension tasks already as well. The extension tasks available on each project are often the most valuable learnings since they dive deeper into common real-world Android use cases.

The next step is to continue working on extensions to your todo app and to schedule a short 10 minute phone conversation with us. Navigate to today's date and onward from there and choose a 15-minute slot. Let us know if none of those times work.

Once you select a slot, can you make sure to include best number to reach you at to the invite? Look forward to chatting soon!

Hi @nesquena. I am trying to schedule a date. Just to be sure, in my calendar the slots on Thursday 14th appear from 20:00 to 22:00 hour (i.e. 8PM to 10PM). The problem is that I guess that those times are on your time zone, and I am afraid that Google is not updating them to my time zone (Basically because here we are already on Friday 15th 0:39AM).

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converted.html?iso=20160114T20&p1=224&p2=141 Here it is GMT+1 and in SF is GMT-8 so if I am right that means, your slots are from 4AM to 6AM in my local time. Here in Spain, that's exactly in the middle of the night. I don't care to stay awake all night but I would like to be fresh in the phone call so my spoken english is fluent enough :)

I've seen you had spaces around 4AM-6AM on wednesday and thursday, if you could allocate some slot like that on friday, to me that would be a very nice time. In fact, I am pretty available from 4AM - 4PM in your local time. Would that fit for you?

Are there times for next week on the calendar which look better? Apologize about the timezone confusions.

Chezlui commented 8 years ago

Oh yes! I dind't see them, I thought it finished this week. And please, you apologize me for the objections with the timezone, it's me who is far away.

Thank you for considering my candidature, I'll reserve a slot.
