[Bug] PoS 1.0.9 breaks at 46% with k35 #331

What happened?

Chia PoS 1.0.9 always fails at 46% when plotting k35 on a SMB drive.

Using a fully patched QNAP NAS on 10Gbps wire speed. No other services running on the plotter or the NAS.

Other stress tests can run for months without failing but for some reason k35 plotting always fails at the same spot.

Oddly enough, plotting k34 is OK.

Same setup was working just fine with earlier versions of Chia.

Do you have any logfiles that you can share with us? Also, are you having the same same issue when you are plotting to a local drive, vs SMB?

dstoynev commented 2 years ago

Hi!

No currently retreivable logfiles.

I updated to 1.3.5 and I'm simulating it again with log level set to WARNING. I'll post the logs as soon as I catch the crash.

EDIT: To your second question - I don't have enough free space to plot k35 on local drives. Oddly enough, I plotted quite a few k35 plots with the early versions of Chia plotters and the same hardware and setup. It seems to me that this was introduced in one of the newer versions.

Let's move this to chiapos since it's not a chia-blockchain issue

I got the bug again. Actually, it happened quickly but I didn't manage to upload until now.

Plotter rig has 64GB of RAM and there are no other tasks running on it, apart from the OS. NAS logs are also clean.

The supposedly invalid handle doesn't inspire much confidence as the k35 plotting always breaks there. Also, I can edit and delete the supposedly locked out file.

EDIT: I'm new to github... I thought the "code" insert option will embed the log in a window, yet here we are. Dragging and dropping the .txt or .zip doesn't seem to be working as I'm getting "We don't support that file type. Try again with a ..." WTF?

EDIT2: Attaching the log now worked k35_plotter_log.txt .
