If I search my inventory, it will highlight what appears to be an empty slot. I can't select the jar to put it in a bag, or even to drop it. If I move something else into the "empty" slot, it will switch places with the jar, and I'll very briefly see the icon, only to have it shrink away into the upper left corner.

Still true for me too - I have a Firefly jar stuck in a main slot. Hmm, maybe I can drag something else that's inside a bag to that slot (forcing the swap, i hope) and then drop the bag to get rid of the jar.
