3 years ago NetworkManager won't run on standalone servers and never will. It will require you to run on some type of proxy and velocity will soon be supported as well.

permission Provider For Servers that dont run behind Proxy Setup. For modded Servers For example, since 1.14/1.15/1.16 Forge doesnt allow Connections to vanilla Servers when mods with new content are present
