Thanks for the heads up. I have a forum account with palemoon; do I need different one, or how would I update my extension on APO?
You don't need a forum account per se, but having one simplifies the initial submission process (I'd need to send you some details). Basically, once setup, you'd be given an FTP account where you can upload new versions, no review necessary. All you would need to do is upload the new XPI and edit a small amount of metadata to point to the new file. This is only a temporary measure though, as we are eventually looking at setting up a self-service web-based system for uploading files.
If you're interested, please do send me a PM on the forums with the details listed here (see section Hosting your Add-on
). You don't need to create another forum account if you already have one.
Hi there,
With the announcement that Mozilla will be removing XUL add-ons from AMO soon, this is just to note that we will be removing AMO support on May 8, 2018 (2018-05-08). When this is done, any add-ons hosted on AMO but linked on our site will have their links removed, and such add-ons will also not be able to auto-update anymore.
There is a workaround for this however: we do provide our own add-ons site, with its own individual listings and auto-update, at https://addons.palemoon.org. If hosted here, add-ons would continue to auto-update for end users, and would not face removal such as what is happening with AMO. It's also possible to self-host this, as we could link to it, if you'd prefer (at the moment your AMO link is on our site). To do this though you'd need to have a valid
updateURL
in yourinstall.rdf
.If this is of interest please do let me know and I can try to help as best I can.
Thanks!
