On updateMetas, the lock screen control changes pause icon to play icon

Looks like iOS thinks the song is paused when the meta is updated. Any ideas on this? I'm using Ionic with Cordova.

I should probably stop testing with the simulator and use real devices. This doesn't happen on an iPod Touch.
