To maximise battery life. Currently takes about 61mA at 5V to run with no sleep cleverness. Could do with being a tenth of this. Light sleep mode on the ESP32 will probably do the job, or thereabouts without it all becoming a bit complicated

Addiing basic sleep operation reduces the current consumption from 65mA on average with 2 beeps at 10dBm to 21.6mA. One beep gives 13mA. This is with the display turned off after 3 minutes
