Suggestion to make compatible with vimium #74

On the edge browser the Vimium extension is amazing for navigating webpages. However it does not work for Edge:// pages or the default home page.

companion apps. I'm not sure what would need to be implemented to enable to use of vimium keybinds on the fauxbar home pageIt was suggested that I try fauxbar to see if it would be compatible, and while it is not currently, I think they would be terrific companion apps

Hi, sorry, but Fauxbar will stop working soon once WebSQL is removed from Chromium v119 in a couple months.

Issue 695592: Deprecate and remove WebSQL (Window#openDatabase)

I've dabbled with using a basic JavaScript array in the backend, which seemed to work, but would require rewriting most of Fauxbar to make it happen.

I doubt this will happen. Maybe. Time will tell (depending on how annoyed I am if forced to try and use regular Omnibox or other browser again).

Fauxbar is a very old extension...

Oh I see. Well thankyou for letting me know. Maybe I can give you an idea for how I've solved my issues for now. A) I've started using Vivaldi. The base features implement a lot of what Edge used to do, but stopped, or what I've wanted it to do for some time. B) there is an extension called 'new tab redirect' which does exactly what it says. Basically it makes it so that whenever the new tab page is loaded it goes to a different website (my blog), that way vimium-c still works for controlling the browser. I intend to make my blog act as a much better home screen over time, giving me a small project to work on as well as be more inclined to use it if I see it often. I mean, I'm not going to be web-browsing if I'm not hooked into the internet, so why not have my new-tab page be a webpage?

I really appreciate that you ever did do the work to create fauxbar. For what it's worth, if I wasn't using vimium-c I would have absolutely used fauxbar as a new-tab page. I was getting tired of the edge new-tab page... constantly seeing all the clickbait news gets annoying fast, but for the longest time I was just too lazy to change it because I didn't even think there was an alternative. It's really too bad that all of your work is being invalidated just because the browser want's to stop supporting some web technology. I guess I can understand if it's for security reasons, but it's really kinda bogus. It's not like we can't just figure out how to make it work better and safer if it wasn't already pretty useful! sometimes I think new technologies push out the old a little to fast.

I hope you really enjoy whatever things you're working on lately.
