optionman2018 commented 1 year ago

fyi: i chose hypr, and got the "infinite loop" lightdm login. never could get past it. i was using the right credentials.

optionman2018 commented 1 year ago

Thanks for making it so easy! My first attempt at a clean Arch install. So far, so good.

However, I encountered a slight annoyance. I was able to set the keyboard layout to Croatian before running your script without an issue. But during the install, where it asks to pick a keyboard layout, there is neither Croatian, or anything that is similar to it. I have to default to English and change it once it is installed. My preference is having the system in English, but the different layout makes it confusing. Finding special characters is always a game of hitting different button combinations in hopes of finding the one that's needed.

I use RichARCH btw. RichARCH is designed to be a Simple Quick Pure path to Arch Linux with automation features. richarch.sf.net

WHy dual boot is not possible? I thought that I can just create a unaloccated space and create system there as always. Can you explain why it behaves the way that in fact shoud not?

With RichARCH, you should first install Windoze with leaving storage space for Linux, then install Linux and if the system uses UEFI the installer will just pickup the Win install with systemd-boot.

I've tried this thrice. Each time I got stuck in initial window with hyprland logo and "Warnig: You're using an auto-generated config!" Message on top. It doesn't launch Kitty on Super+Q, doesn't exit Hypr on Super+M. It just freezed there. Any solutions?

We have updated RichARCH Hyprland install process to help with this. On Arch you can try " pacman -Syu kitty " to install kitty.

How about a section to use btrfs and timeshift so that with every (aur) update/install a snapshot is made. btrfs snapshots are 90% faster than rsync of a ext4 partition, or so i am told)
