As @Ippo343 remarked in #10, parachutes will open in real time even if timewarp is engaged. Instead of going ahead and stopping timewarp, I think the best solution would be to create a new watch object which would mimic the currently used System.Diagnostics.StopWatch, but which run on the ingame clock and runs faster under timewarp.
