Transferring is not working for me in Lion. My folders aren't even showing up
on the TiVo screen.

Same problem. I'm sure since lion drops java and updates some things to 64 bit
things have become broken. hope this gets fixed soon. I don't like using
streambaby by itself!

Tried both 1.3 and 1.4.1b and neither one works with Lion.
Here's the order of things I tried so far...
- 1.3 works inside Snow Leopard
- Upgraded to Lion
- 1.3 StreamBaby stops working
- Tried replacing 1.3 with 1.4.1b
- StreamBaby still not working
- Closed/Quit pyTivoX
- Reinstalled Java
- Reopened pyTivoX
- StreamBaby still doesn't work

Best way to get pyTivoX to work:
1. Install StreamBaby anywhere on Mac.
2. Completely quit pyTivoX.
3. Run StreamBaby application.
4. Close StreamBaby application.
5. Run pyTivoX application.
Both pyTivo and StreamBaby functions of pyTivoX will now work properly.

I downloaded StreamBaby 0.29 from the suggested website but I cannot install it
on my Mac. The website also said
"Mac users may also download & install pyTivoX which includes a full GUI and
install for both streambaby and pyTiVo." which puzzled me.
Any instructions of how to install StreamBaby on a Mac will be appreciated.

Streambaby has a Unix kernel. The core of the Mac also has a unix Kernel so
Streambaby will run.
Instructions
1-Download Streambaby-0.29
2-Open the Streambaby folder and look for the Streambaby Unix Executable file.
It will be called "Streambaby". Note*** It is not called 'Streambaby.log, or
Streambaby.ini, or Streambaby.properties. Just plain old "Streambaby".
3-Double Click "Streambaby"
4-A terminal window should open. Wait for it to say "ready & listening". This
may take a while. Do not rush it.
5-Close Streambaby
6-Launch PyTivox
7-Enjoy

I followed the instructions but still cannot stream.
When I run SteamBaby, here is the log
Last login: Sun Aug 28 18:58:33 on ttys001
iMac:~ winters$ /Users/winters/Downloads/streambaby-0.29/streambaby ; exit;
Initializing StreamBaby v0.29...
09/01/11 12:07:12 FFmpegJavaVideoModule: Unable to load FFmpeg native libraries
09/01/11 12:07:12 Listener: added factory
09/01/11 12:07:12 Main: streambaby ready & listening.
Would has "FFmpegJavaVideoModule: Unable to load FFmpeg native libraries"
caused the problem? If so, how to fix it?

To add to comment 11... I followed the directions in comment 19.
If I close Streambaby, launch pyTivoX right away, and then on my TiVo,
immediately launch the streambaby app, then I can get in and see the videos
that I have shared. This only works if I do this all within a span of about 30
sec. (Probably how often the TiVo polls for available apps on the network)
However, if I wait about 2-4 minutes, the entry for Streambaby in
showcases/apps/etc (whatever it's called) disappears and I can no longer access
streambaby at all on my TiVo until I repeat opening up Streambaby again on my
Mac beforehand.

That still doesn't work for me. And even if it did, that's an unacceptable
workaround. Start and stop one app. Launch another seconds later. Launch
tivo seconds later. This just need to be fixed so it works like it used to.

I found a temporary fix, thanks to whoever posted this:
http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=8632559#post8632559
Run the following command from a Terminal window while pyTivoX is running, and
StreamBaby will magically pop up under Showcases and Extras on a Tivo Premiere:
mDNS -R "streambaby" _tivo-hme._tcp . 7290 path=/streambaby/
Replace the first "streambaby" in quotes with what you want streambaby to show
up in your TiVo menu as. Also replace the port number as necessary to match
your installation.
I think this will continue to work until you either restart your Mac or shut
down pyTivoX, but I haven't tested this in depth yet.

An interesting thing just happened, in case anyone is still reading these
threads.
I re-installed OS X Lion 10.7.3 on my Hackintosh (PC Hardware), and after
installing PyTivoX and expecting to have to use Lingon to create the daemon as
I have in the past... I didn't!
Streambaby simply showed up immediately in the Tivo's menus, and everything
"just works".
I don't know if something changed in Lion to make it work happily again, but...
it is. Go figure!

For Mountain Lion, this works ...
dns-sd -R "streambaby" _tivo-hme._tcp . 7290 path=/streambaby/
