add URL text to day view #11

I would like to request two features.

In the day view, when you have a longer space on the line, provide the URL text as well. (The URL text is already visible as a pop-up title when you hover over the line, and in the status bar at the bottom when you hover over the "Link" at the end of the line.)

Also, enable custom column widths. Some of my URLs are long only vary only at the end.

Thanks for a good addon.

Sorry for the long delay. I’m back at this now. Day-View should be doable in the near future.

Could you expand on exactly what you mean there?

Eg if I happen to have these two:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18755089/git-show-not-working-fatal-path-mypath-exists-on-disk-but-not-in-mybran
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18755089/git-show-not-working-fatal-path-mypath-exists-on-disk-but-not-in-mybran#18756190`

That is wide text. If only the left half of that shows, they look identical. They only vary with the hashtag/anchor at the end.

So either some way to widen one column (eg URL column) and shrink the other (eg page title column). Or some way to scroll the columns left/right. Or URL on its own line.

But maybe now the issue is clear?

Ah, you mean a to-be-added column.

I actually have this issue sometimes as well, at least for me those URLs will then all look similar for a specific search. What do you think about getting a common prefix, and shortening the string, so it would display something like this:

…-disk-but-not-in-mybran
…-disk-but-not-in-mybran#18756190

Just to be clear, that is in addition to a hopefully more general solution about fitting the URLs with no common prefix I’ll hopefully manage to come up with ;)

Or keeping the start and the end with "..." in the middle.

Because just that end string as written, not sure it's descriptive enough.

But in general, yeah, that would help.
