Plot vector fields attache to a surface, similar to (sans the melting grid)

The UI form would need:

tail(u,v)
components(u, v)

Would you be able to plot vectors only on surface slices like the SliceVectorPlot3D tool in Mathematica? I've been hoping for a Web-based tool like math3d that could do this to help teach students about Stokes's theorem and Green's theorem.

It would be nice too if there was a way to do color scaling rather than vector length scaling for vector fields.
