What's the license for this project? I'd like to consider working on it at some point, but I can't do that without a license.

@joshbackstein AFAIK if he does not provide a license the code is public domain. And if he does end up licensing the code, the current version before the licensing is still public domain.

And since it is public domain, you may very well also license your changes.

If you want legal president for this, in the beginning Wine was license with the MIT license, and Cedega Software forked Wine, and licensed the code with a combination of proprietary open source and closed source. Cedega continued selling their fork of Wine until they went out of business or got purchased by another company not interested in continuing (I don't remember which one)

@sigboe: My understanding of copyright law in the U.S. is that the copyright for a work is automatically assigned to the creator of the work. Because of this, we need a license from @Chrs2324 to let us know how we're allowed to use the code (if we're allowed to use it at all). The GPL and MIT licenses are probably the two most popular ones for open source projects, and I think either one would be a good choice for this project.
