USB drives formatted as Android device storage (Adoptable Storage) often get "safely ejected" in standby (Settings ⇒ Storage), requiring a full reboot to get it in a working state again. I assume this to be a result of the frequent wakeups with some driver sometimes not properly resuming, afterwards staying in a bad state forever.
Several USB flash and SSD drives from Samsung, Kingston, SanDisk and ADATA have been tested with the same outcome.
