Before Oreo update it was possible to call up the "Picture Settings" menu by IR command. Despite the fact that there is no "Picture Settings" button on Sony remote it worked well with Logitech Harmony.
It's major user experience downgrade if user has multiple Picture Settings Presets for SDR/HDR/DayTime/NightTime viewing conditions.
PictureMode command still present in Simple IP control commands list, but I can't test it: https://pro-bravia.sony.net/develop/integrate/ssip/command-definitions/index.html
There's an option to get around this issue. Use Home Assistant integration to utilize Bravia REST API for fast picture mode switching. This is a working solution https://community.home-assistant.io/t/solved-automate-switching-of-sony-bravia-tv-scenes-to-change-post-processing-or-picture-mode-for-certain-content/185313/4
Some people may not want to use Sony's clunky remote. Unfortunately picture settings of 'Apps' or 'Apps (Video)' sources can only be entered via the proprietary ACTION MENU. When entering the Android TV settings via voice command ('open settings') and going to Display>Picture, the BRAVIA automatically switches source to the last active external input.
