When no audio is currently playing, the first 1-2s of a voice response from Assistant or Alexa are always cut-off when outputting audio via HDMI-ARC. Early Oreo firmware versions worked around this issue by routing the Assistant’s voice response via the TV’s internal speakers.
It also happens when initiating the playback of any content. It does not hurt as much for a movie though, if the first 1-2s lack audio. In case of Assistant, part of each voice response is effectively being swallowed.
