Heyo,

I'm trying to get this plugin to work. I'm as far as: it loads the playlist and shows the channels. Now if I open a channel you see the yellow circle and that's it.

1) Now I'm reading the Compatibility and limitations page and "you" keep talking about: "By default Plex Media Server does not transcode live streams and leaves this job to players, " .. I'm new to plex, so I'm not sure what is exactly meant by "players"

Right now my setup is: Server = Debian plex server, Client = Plex client on Android TV.

The plex client "is" the player right? Or does it launch a sub-process which I can control? (eg: does it fire VLC or something to handle actual playing, not that I have VLC but it's an example)

2) Sub question to this (non related) .. this suggests I can manipulate the player for other files too. IS it worth it to change even for say mkvs?

3) Also another sub question: I noticed in the playlist-euh.. list.. that EPG doesn't show in the list itself but on each item, is there a way to see the EPG in the list? Makes life so much easier.

4) Final sub question lol: can I get the play list to the main page of Plex? (like under playlists, or recently watched etc etc)

1) Player = client and vice versa, no additional proccesses are being launched by plug-in, all playback is done by Plex server + client/player combo. 2) Not sure what You want to change to what, but if You want to use this plug-in to play local files You can do that, but native Plex tools will do that much better. 3) Depends on client/player You are using because EPG data is shown instead of media items description, so if Your client/player shows description in list mode then You'll see the EPG, if not then not. 4) Don't think so, but again results might differ depending on client/player.

  1. cool thanks, then I have to figure out what I'm doing wrong. it just won't fire up the streams and they are all .ts in the m3u.

  2. yeh my head was going: perhaps the plex client is nothing more than a shell that uses an external player. (again I'm new to plex)

  3. I'm using the plex client app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexapp.android )

  4. well ok good to know

1) Many users had success after changing .ts extensions to .m3u8 (issue #40), however I have no idea why would it work, in my humble opinion defining specific media containers and protocols should yield a better results as suggested in issue #81 and explained in wiki and Plex forum.

@djmulder can you post if you find a solution? thanks

djmulder commented 6 years ago

@luckyzor I doubt I'll find one, I gave up and went to kodi and killed my plex server.

@djmulder Ok. I wanted a solution so I can see IPTV in a webpage without extensions or any apps. and this was a good solution. Tks any way
