Plays only a few seconds #55

I have seen this issue mentioned many times, but have never found it addressed. On the rare occasion that I am able to get a stream to play, it will always stop and go back to the stream menu after 10 to 30 seconds. This has happened 100% of the time that I have gotten streams to play. I have yet to have a stream play longer. Are there any tips to improve/fix this issue? If need be, I can provide my setup/specs, but the issue seems to be very widespread.

This issue is usually overlooked here because it is Plexes issue, not plugins.

Only suggestion I have is to fiddle with transcoding options like enabling/disabling Direct Play and Direct Streaming options in clients You are using, read more about that in readme file, Plex forum or Plex documentation.

I was just introduced into IPTV and I struggled with this issue for the first 2 days as well. I'm not really sure but this might also help you @bossasu. When I open the the m3u file my IPTV provider provides me, I noticed that all the extension were '.ts'. These ts-files are indeed videos of 20-30 seconds long. The trick is to let the provider generate a m3u file which contains links to other m3u's so Plex will keep playing. All you have to do is add '&output=m3u8' at the end of the link of your IPTV provider. Not sure if you already did this but I was very happy when I found out that this worked for me.

To update on @Weszzz comment

I set the output to HLS instead of m3u8 and this fixed the issue for me on XBox
