Guards (Bouncer) can't be damaged #477

Bouncer is able to attack players, but cannot be damaged back. This occured on version 1.1.3, usings bukkit 1597

Just to elaborate, because I left this kind of bare, I have hopes of using these guards in tandem with quests. As there's no real control over evil NPCs, these guards fit (almost) perfectly. The issue (though it may be more of a suggestion, not sure if the current functionality is intentional) is that while these guards can attack players, the players can't attack back. All this does is frustrate players who feel as though they've been cheated by the death. I feel that it should at least be a toggled option to have guards take damage.

Quest NPC's can not be killed

That much is understood, but i want to be able to kill guard npcs, and nothing in the config seems to change this. When i said I wanted these guards for quests, I didn't mean directly as in quest givers, but as oposition to the players. They'll shout something mean and start attacking, nothing more.

Having this problem too, I had this working in an older version of citizens but nothing i try now works

I actually found the issue (relative to my case). I was using essentials protect to prevent pvp from guests to my server. Disabling the pvp protection fixed the npc issue. If you have anything disabling pvp, disable it and see what happens.

What line did you edit to fix this Twolfwd? I have the same problem, I jump and attack an npc, that I do not own, sparkles come out but, no flinch or damage...
