Proposed change: https://boston.seamlessdocs.com/f/5vN8DX
which would live at: https://www.boston.gov/annual-resident-listing
Other things tried:
Google Drive -- believe Google Sheets? @rachelbraun need to confirm if this is what's being used
Sabino has set up his own access database to convert the spreadsheet output into printable sheets.
PDF merge: Josh found a chrome plugin (https://pdfmerge.w69b.com/) that seems to work well for combining and downloading, but need to get it vetted somehow. Didn't work.
Current state: This is a custom-built web application. Ownership of the application is unclear, but lies between Digital Team and Elections. Printed out records are entered into a secure desktop-based application provided by the Secretary of State's office. A lot of the front end form question limitations on our end are to match the limitations from the State level.
Front end wants/needs: Elections Department wants people to be able to add multiple household members per address. Currently, residents need to list each person per address.
Users want a mobile-friendly experience and a way to quickly and easily submit things.
DoIT/Digital wants something simple that doesn't require custom development/support.
Proposed fields (which past reports from Josh have been approved/vetted by Sabino):
Back end wants/needs: A user logs in:
All submissions are listed in an administrative viewer and can be printed individually or in batches of 100 (ideally batches). Once they are printed, they should be removed from the file.
Submissions are currently in a particular format, but business owners [Elections] don't care whether that format is the same or not moving forward.
Awaiting list of POCs from Elections. Form with Elections for final review.
