Discussion - When and how to use a interface built with Javascript #150

Javascript has the benefit of running in browsers, desktop applications and also VS Code, however, there are plenty of ways of doing this and it should be discussed before starting the development process. A few questions:

Where will it run? Is it going to be a desktop app or web application?
What frameworks are we using?
Define what web-services are required and their signatures
Is there any security issue we should be aware of? Does the WS depend on authentication?
Is it possible to create automated tests?
