[Oct 29 meeting follow up] all 3 projectors don't work together on new Mac Pro #38

@LAAP said that an active adapter might help. Can you ask Markus to order one and test while I am away? Please let me know if it works. Thank you!

We might have also to face the fact that the simulation is using the fullscreen mode. When the simu is on it 's not sure that we can display somethign else than the simu

popabczhang commented 5 years ago

Is there a better way to do display control in Processing other than creating a huge fullscreen window across 3 screens?

yasushisakai commented 5 years ago

thing is that processing needs to select 2 out of 3 display's, it's different from spanning fullscreen nor just occupying a single screen.

@RELNO and @agrignard have partially resolved this issue.

in a nutshell, we run processing first, and then Unity and will at least be presentable. however the original display limit issue still persists.

@yasushisakai thanks - let's keep open till we test with build by @popabczhang

popabczhang commented 5 years ago

yes, this will be the first thing to test when I am back on 6th.

Some update on that.

We spend an interesting day today to try to connect 3 projectors to the mac pro. It's a long story for those that are interested to understand more in detail the problem here is one entry point: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202801

Anyway yesterday we were able to see 2 projections working and one screen working because the screen was a apple display. And an Apple Display behave differently than a normal projector. So at the end today we are not able yet to have 3 projectors on the same computer because we are missing a very specific adaptator (Active DVI Adaptator) that is not in sale anymore in us on the apple store...we ordered it on amazon, let's cross the finger that it will arrive soon

Arnaud,

Thank you for your explaination. Let's cross finger. Quick question, if we don't connect any screen, but 3 projectors, will it work?
