other related data sets #5

We need to brainstorm how to use the business data that we have with other data sets, to produce analytics and data visualizations to show the benefits of locating grocery stores or healthy food providers in food deserts.

One idea is to collect data on average grocery prices at convenience stores versus grocery stores. We could put together a basic grocery list and then find out (by in-person canvasing or finding product retail info) how much each item would cost at a grocery store vs convenience store. We suspect that we'd find convenience stores to be more expensive, and therefore that people living in food deserts on average are more likely to spend more money on basic groceries. This information could then be used to infer how much money grocery stores or other food providers could make in areas currently only served by convenience stores.

Other data sets that could be related to income, and EBT/SNAP spending/eligibility. Other ideas?
