Why are certain plugins flagged even if compatible with CP #92

Closed smileBeda closed 3 years ago

Today a user reported MetaSlider to be flagged by the plugin: https://forums.classicpress.net/t/incompatible-plugins/3592

Plugin URL: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ml-slider/ Minimal WP Version Required: 3.5 or higher

Thus should not be flagged Yet, it seems it gets flagged.

Investigate why...

The checks may not be working fully as expected for the ml-slider plugin but on reviewing I don't think it's a bad thing. There are readme files in several folders in that plugin.

Overall the plugin declares it is compatible with WordPress 3.5 however it has other plugins or 'apps' bundled with it that declare they require WordPress 5.5 and above for example. See the extendify-sdk and meta gallery folders for examples.

I see! Yes, seems a good block, then.

I'll update the forum thread and I think we can close here.

I am surprised such a plugin is even allowed in the repo. But whatever, not our problem so far.

Thanks!!
