Apache Pekko is an OSS community fork of Akka (due to Akka's move away from OSS)
There are no releases yet but there are nightly builds that are published
Snapshot jars should start appearing in the Apache Nexus repo soon.
the description of https://github.com/apache/incubator-pekko/issues/109 provides a general overview for developers who want to take Akka code and create new code that compiles and runs with Pekko instead
