Handmade batteries. #10092

I noticed that you can use handmade batteries to craft concentrated acid even if you made them using potatoes, for example.

Actually, I'm unsure if this is a bug or not, but it would be useful to add possibility to make concentrated acid from fruits or vegetables that are used in batteries if this is intended.

No, this isn't intended. We can maybe replace having batteries in the crafting recipe with a battery disassemly recipe, which I think will give you back potatoes if the battery was made with them. Alternately just remove the potato->battery recipe, it's silly.

I don't think disassembly will work. That's because handmade potato batteries will stack with normal batteries.

Maybe a solution would be to have a separate, craftable "potato power cell". This cell can be loaded with potatoes to generate power, then connected to a vehicle so other items can use the generated power.

Another idea would be a UPPS (Unified Potato Power System). The UPPS can be loaded with potatoes, which generates power for use with standard UPS systems. The most likely place to find this item would be in schools or with toys, as it was marketed mainly to children as educational. It doesn't hold a lot of power, but it would be fine for small items like UPS-enabled flashlights. It's not going to fuel your power armor for very long though.

While I admit the potato thing is a little silly, it's still such a fun thing that's been part of Cata for so long, that it don't think we should just dump it. I actually HAVE a potato powered clock, I think it's in the attic somewhere.

Next thing you know, you have people eating entire potato cells to power their bionics or firing a coilgun with a potato. It's pretty silly and potato cells should probably not be counted as wholesale batteries.
