Changes in source-of-light system #16461

The main idea is: any source of ligh(SoL) don't emit light when it in inventory. If you want light – equip SoL in hand like swag bag (if it don't wearable already, like head torch) or like weapon if it neccesary in current game situation. Exeptions(optional): glowsticks and lightstrips – these two in my opinion should be worn like holy symbol. Additionally, you can forbid activation in inventory and putting in inventory activated SoL that using fire – for natural roleplay causes. Pros:

This is the way we want to go eventually, but there is a large overhaul to the handling of hands needed before that can happen. In other words, we can't require players to hold light sources until they are able to hold something else in their other hand.

Kinda assume the player just duct tape on one shoulder or put their light source on the side for now. One handed firearms they hold it like police do with flashlights.

Kinda a lot to do with imagination now :D.

I think It possible with current handling of hands system by making SoL-items wearable like head torch, but on the "either hand" & "either arm"(like bindle or swag bag do), not on the head, with little encumbrance(or without it) and limitation of used weapon weight(pic). So you can hold weapon and SoL simultaneously without large mechanics overhaul. If that still not convincing, at least you can add to glowsticks and lightstrips "hiden state" -- deactivation without pause charge counter, for safe carry in night. cdda
