Pair of eyeglasses with Huge mutation. #43138

Open Swootch opened 4 years ago

Swootch commented 4 years ago

Describe the bug

Wearing eyeglasses when mutating to Huge does not destroy them, but taking them off has them now considered to be too small. They can not be refitted, upsized, or downsized. However they can still be worn.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Wear glasses, any glasses.
  2. Mutate Huge.
  3. Glasses do not break.

Expected behavior

Glasses break or slip off.

Versions and configuration

Additional context

If this issue will be fixed, please add some kind of makeshift glasses that fit characters with the Huge mutation. Alternatively just remove the (too small) description as it adds nothing but confusion.

Still reproducible in 0.E-9603-g42468f6cab. The (too small) descriptor only appears on certain glasses, not all of them - ballistic glasses, eclipse glasses, safety glasses, and sunglasses are a few examples. But it is still possible to wear these too-small glasses, while Huge. This is consistent with them not breaking or falling off when mutating.

But this doesn't really seem like a bug to me. Functionally, glasses are lenses that sit in front of the eyes (perhaps with arms that reach back to touch the sides of the head above the ears, and/or a set of pads that grip the bridge of the nose). Human-sized glasses would fit a bear-sized mutant poorly, but a smart bear survivor would be able to improvise something to hold the lenses in front of the eyes, so they don't fall off. It is certainly more feasible than a bear being able to wear human-sized pants.

Causing Huge mutants' eyewear to break and/or become unwearable feels like an unnecessary extra punishment, especially since glasses cannot be resized.

That would suggest the removal of "(too small)".
