Crapstorm of problems concerning wood recipes. #57205

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

So...

  1. You can use a mere axe to chop planks out of logs and you'd get 6-10 planks per log depending on certain skill. But when you make heavy wooden beam (which uses 2 logs if you have the planer), then use bandsaw or table saw to make planks out of them, you get only... 9 planks. What...? Also, sawing planks from tree trunk using the construction menu yields about 10 planks at best as if you chop a log into planks, despite if you chop a trunk into logs, it often yields 2-3 logs.
  2. Heavy wooden beam which is 244cm can be made into 300cm long pole. And if you're going to fix this, please remember logs by themselves are 140cm each. 280cm at best (Which isn't likely possible, because current heavy wooden beam do not use any adhesives as components) are still not long pole's 300cm.

Solution you would like.

  1. Make the bandsaw and table saw able to produce more planks, or produce planks from logs directly. Currently, that's not possible.
  2. Nerf the amount of planks you could get from logs when chopping them with axes. And saws should actually have better yield of planks for that too. Also fix the construction project's yield.
  3. Fix the lengths problem about the heavy wooden beam in some way. Maybe it uses another log. Maybe change the log's length. But most importantly, why doesn't it need any adhesive?

Describe alternatives you have considered.

EDIT: This is a bit late, but there's #31219 PR to be considered.
