Grappling Hook - unable to climb up z-level ... possible conflict with parkour

Describe the bug

Was trying to clear collapsed tower When i went down a z-level with my grappling hook i was unable to return to the upper level the grappling hook was not working as intended reloaded did some testing with a different ledge - going down worked like before - going up not i was able to get up - once i removed the grappling hook Fentress.zip

Steps to reproduce

load provided safe approach ledge climb down with grappling hook try to climb up remove grappling hook try to climb up

Expected behavior

If i go down with the grappling hook i should be able to go up with it It shouldnt matter that i know parkour

I completely failed to get up using the grappling hook in the collapsed tower (a month or two ago), but managed to climb up in the elevator shaft. Climbing down worked with the grappling hook, though.

My situation was the opposite in a bugged mine ("abandoned drive-through" instead of mine: known issue that I think is fixed for new mines) where I had to jump down because the stairs only went half way and the elevator controls were AWOL at the lower level, but could use the grappling hook from below to get up (but it could not be deployed to get down).

Note that my character doesn't know parkour, so that's not the cause of the problem.

in the collapsed tower i have a similar thing with the halfway stairs - here also the grappling hook does not work correctly for me i need to remove it if i want to climb up - down it works

Ah, yes, the hook blocked upward passage for me too. I also had one case of the grappling hook duplicating when I took it down, but it wasn't repeatable.

/confirmed Solid earth (t_soil) does not count as a wall for the purposes of using a grappling hook

Just had the issue of using a rope to descend into a basement with broken stairs. After going down trying to use the rope to go back up said there was a ceiling there.
