This has been the case for years and affects all such constructions (I don't know about the metal ones, but the palisade gates randomly(?) fail to do anything), resulting in the frequent need for multiple attempts. It can be noted that it probably was a month or so since I experienced the issue last (updating the garage 2 expansion), so it doesn't take the current experimental version into account, but I doubt it has been fixed in the mean time.
Also note that it's any activation, so it affects closing as well as opening.

Spawn this barn using map editor or overmap editor pull barn door polley observe that it can't be closed once opened
