Describe the bug

NPCs do not gain in proficiency skills when told to craft an item that uses said proficiency from the crafting menu. this occurs despite numerous crafting sessions of the same item or proficiency-related items many times.

Attach save file

Althea-trimmed.tar.gz

Steps to reproduce

Use save file and not Carlos Rooney has 76% toward the Carving proficiency. Tell Carlos Rooney to make a spear shaft and wait for him to finish, then check his proficiency level again. It will not have changed. You can also check the various other NPCs that are currently crafting items in the save, and what their related proficiencies are before and after as well.

Expected behavior

NPCs should gain in proficiency at least a little bit if they complete a craft that requires it.

i tried with carding paddles and it got him to 85% like i figure maybe you need something higher lvl for more exp but low enough so they dont focus on lvling the skill instead of the proficiency (also needed something where theyre not failing constantly) image

i looked with this search for something decent to craft and went with the carding paddles image

should mention i dont have the mining mod if results are vastly different

If the player character crafts a recipe and they have the primary skill higher than the required, they don't gain proficiency progress either.

Edit: I might be wrong.
