The idea floated is that when a gene curator curates in the GCI, we check that they have an account in the GPM by pinging the GPM API with the email address. The user would be blocked from curating unless an account can be found in the GPM.
Once a GCI user has a GPM user ID associated with their account then they can continue their curation unabated.
Having a GPM user ID attached to GCI curators will provide a means of future linking of curation data with the GPM.
