feature request: search for gene names #38

Hi!

I'm only forwarding a request here from Teresita to be able to search for gene-names in GENS. I have tried to do this myself and it doesn't seem to work. Is this a feature that's intended to be included at some point?

OK, I think we can close this with the 2.1.1 released on prod!
