The mother term is "human subject enrollment" http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/OBI_0600004, therefore, I propose the definition of this term is: "a human subject enrollment process that is part of a clinical trial in order to enroll human subject to be the participant of a clinical trial."

It is also seems that after the enrollment process, a clinical trial participant candidate becomes a 'clinical trial participant'.
