Specimen Book UFI combining chars not rendered correctly #3

The PDF version of the Specimen Book does not render the combining characters in the UFI section correctly. The result are the same for Kurinto Book and Kurinto Roma. The dotted-circle character is shown, but the combining character itself is not rendered.

On-screen display of the Specimen Book .DOCX in Microsoft Word appears correct. I have tried increasing the point size from 12pt to 18pt, with no improvement. I have no way to diagnose this issue, and guess that it is the rendering engine for "Save As ..." to PDF from Microsoft Word.
