Malwine has offered to mentor me for this workshop.
🎉
Thanks @Malwine for mentoring!
@jmglov I think this chapter is not ready yet to go public. Ping me when you want to have website at clojurebridge.org.
Sure, @yokolet, we will will ping you when it needs to be published. So far @jmglov is still collecting information here, so that we and future organizers from Sweden know about it.
@yokolet @Malwine
We're working on a design for a tee shirt. We like the basic idea of the ClojureBridge Berlin tee shirt here:
https://github.com/clojurebridge-berlin/organization/issues/19
Is it acceptable to add sponsor logos to the shirt (almost certainly on the back), or should they just be text?
@jmglov I believe you can add sponsor logos. It's a kind of expressing appreciation.
If you get your chapter's T-shirt, please put the picture here or somewhere. It will be a nice example for future chapters when they want to make their own.
Thanks, Yoko. So far, I've only been able to find the shirt designs from the Berlin chapter. Do you know where I can find others?
Maybe, you should ask at ClojureBridge workshops mailing list? As far as I know, not many were created so far. Berlin might be only one.
I think we just need an application form and we're ready to go.
Sorry for the premature excitement in an earlier version of this comment. ;)
@jmglov awesome.
I need your email. The email won't show up on the website, but it is used as identifier on the database. Without email, I can't create the record which means unable to create the website.
Do you have Klarna AB's logo? It's not required, but nice to have. The logo will be added to Stockholm website. Also, would you add Klarna AB's url ? for the same reason as the logo.
@yokolet Here are all the things. ;)
Do you think it's better to wait for the application / registration form before creating the website, or is that something we can add once it's done? We expect to have it done within the next two weeks.
@jmglov thanks for the info. The website is up: http://www.clojurebridge.org/events/2017-05-05-stockholm-sweden . Please check everything is correct.
May I ask you one more thing? Would you go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and add image for the email? The website automatically picks gravatar image and shows at the top page.
@yokolet I made a few changes to the info after reviewing the webpage. Will you please change the following?
I set the gravitar. :)
Thanks for adding the gravatar image. It looks nice on the front page.
I changed organizers' names, twitter and github.
Words on registration button is app provided and uncontrollable, sorry. I deleted "Eventbrite," so, now, it shows "Registration will be opening soon! Please check back periodically or follow @clojurebridge on Twitter for updates." I can't change @clojurebirge to any other.
That's great, @yokolet
@yokolet Eric from PurelyFunctional.tv was kind enough to sponsor us as well. Will you please add the logo to the sponsors on the event page? :)
It should be linked to https://purelyfunctional.tv/ , if possible.
@jmglov done.
Eric is a great ClojurBridge supporter!
Thanks, @yokolet! Eric has really done a lot to bring more people into the Clojure community, and we're really grateful to him for helping us out.
@yokolet is there a chance we can get statistics on the event page? How many views and from where? Would be interesting to see how the advertising we did impacted the views :)
@nicevo Google Analytics setup is there. But, I don't know whose account is attached to. Let me ask.
@jgkite @bridgethillyer Do you know who has the access to Google Analytics ID: UA-4857754-15 ?
@jgkite @bridgethillyer Do you know who has the access to Google Analytics ID: UA-4857754-15 ?
@yokolet Unfortunately I don't seem to have access to that GA account. I don't remember setting up Google Analytics for this site, but it's been a while. 😅
@jgkite Thanks. Probably, I should setup new GA ID.
Let me try one more attempt.
@russolsen By chance, do you have an access to Google Analytics of UA-4857754-15 ? It may belong to Cognitect/Relevance.
Thanks for trying! 👍
I've had a look around and I don't see anything in passpack. Sorry.

@yokolet Our registration form is now live! :)

Will you please update the event page?
@russolsen thanks for checking!
@jmglov The registration URL has been added. Please check.
Looks great, @yokolet. Thank you! :)
@yokolet I just caught a typo in the dates in the description section (Friday should be May 5th). I updated the issue.
Would you mind updating the events page? Sorry for my incompetence--dates always seem to trip me up.
The beginning of the description should read:
ClojureBridge is a free 1-day workshop aimed at increasing the participation of women in the Clojure community. It will be held in Stockholm, on Saturday May 6th, 2017 with an install fest on Friday May 5th, 2017 in the evening.
@jmglov Good catch! I wan't aware when I created the website. I believe it's good now.
@yokolet Did I see you just moved back to Japan? :)
If you have time, will you please add Lambda Island as a sponsor to the Stockholm ClojureBridge workshop? Arne (@plexus) just reached out to us and offered to sponsor. :)
The Lambda Island logo is here:
@yokolet @Malwine Will one of you please update our event page and mark registration as closed? Malwine, I added you in case Yoko is really busy. :)
@jmglov I can't update anything there even if I would like to, I am sorry. That's why we are currently rebuilding the website so you could do that yourself with a pull request in the future.
@jmglov Sorry for the delay. I added Lambda Island in the sponsor section. Also, I updated registration field, but couldn't do well in a nice way. That area is half-autogenerated, and now shows wired message. At least, it doesn't point any url.
Thanks, Yoko!

Description
ClojureBridge is a free 1-day workshop aimed at increasing the participation of women in the Clojure community. It will be held in Stockholm, on Saturday May 6th, 2017 with an install fest on Friday May 5th, 2017 in the evening. The workshop is intended both for those new to programming, as well as those with some programming experience who would like to explore programming using Clojure, a modern functional programming language. If you have a lot of programming experience, you may find the pace a bit slow; consider joining us as a coach! :)
The workshop will introduce you to fundamental programming concepts and approaches. Participants will fill out a quick survey to help us create groups based on prior knowledge and understanding. Although participants can install the required software for the workshop on their own, it is recommended everyone attend on Friday to set up her programming environment. Saturday will be spent learning and practising Clojure programming. You will be working in small groups of around 3 attendees each. Each participant needs to bring a laptop computer with a fairly recent operating system (Mac, Linux or Windows). If you have questions about your hardware or you don’t have a laptop, please don’t hesitate to send an email to the organisers before the event.
The workshop will be held in English, but we will have a few Swedish speakers on hand, as well.
Who can attend?
The workshop is open to all women, trans*, and gender nonconforming people.
Code of Conduct:
The workshop provides a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, so we will be asking all learners and event volunteers to respect our Code of Conduct ( http://bridgefoundry.org/code-of-conduct/ ), which will be strictly enforced. Our aim is that ClojureBridge Stockholm will introduce learners to new possibilities in programming and grow the tech community into a more diverse and interesting group.
