  1. Messaging on Instagram

  2. Supporting small businesses also continues to be a major focus for us and it's more important now than ever. Sheryl will cover this in more detail shortly, but I want to call out a few new products we've shipped. The Facebook Shop tab gives people a dedicated place to shop and find products; the Facebook Small Business Suite lets businesses easily manage their presence across our apps; and Paid Online Events lets businesses, creators and educators make money by live-streaming classes, talks and other events. In WhatsApp, we just announced how we’re going to make it easier for people to buy products directly within a chat, and integrating WhatsApp business features with Facebook Shops so that way, when a small business sets up a shop, they can now establish, or will be able to establish a commercial presence across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all at the same time.

  3. As the number of businesses going digital accelerates during the pandemic, we have accelerated our efforts to support them. On the product side, our teams have been working around the clock to build new tools that make operating online simple and efficient. This quarter we released Facebook Business Suite, a new interface for businesses to manage their Pages and Profiles across our apps – helping them save time and stay up to date with customers. We also expanded Facebook and Instagram Shops, Instagram Checkout, and launched the Facebook Shop tab, so businesses can showcase their products and consumers can discover brands and buy things they love. And with more and more businesses using live streaming when they can’t host events in person, we introduced Paid Online Events to help them generate revenue. On WhatsApp, there are now more than 40 million people viewing a Business Catalog every month, so we created a new shopping button to make it even easier for people to discover a catalog and find something they’d like to buy. Soon, you’ll also be able to click a WhatsApp icon on a Facebook Shop to chat directly with the business.

Please listen to the webcall also.

Please read these and we would have a business discussion

I have gone through all the links. Following are the points of interest for us:

  1. Facebook is going to introduce Click to WhatsApp option on Facebook shops, which will enable people to directly chat with business on WhatsApp.
  2. Facebook is integrating WhatsApp Business with Facebook Shops. This will help businesses to have one shop for all Facebook apps (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram)
  3. Facebook is also going to enable an option to purchase products directly within WhatsApp chat
  4. Facebook is providing Hosting Services to businesses. Using this business can opt to store their messages on Facebook servers.

@ImranBinShoukat Thanks for the feedback Q: What business-enhancement we should implement based on the above? Q: Is the Instagram Chat is now available via an API? Q: Facebook Shop and Instagram Shop has a common database? (Catalog, etc etc) Q: What Messenger Integration we should implement with Facebook Shop?

Note: Please see the Whatsapp Payment already implemented in Brazil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yl7T-7OtjpI&list=PLFzkEpkFIWT4enVOWc17sA-3QEUIAwMhf

Unfortunately, we can not decide these yet. In order to make business enhancements we would need to wait for the API release. They have not released any new changes in Facebook graph APIs. The last change they release was on August 04,2020: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/changelog/version8.0

Q: What business-enhancement we should implement based on the above? We can implement new enhancements once we see new API changes from Facebook.

Q: Is the Instagram Chat is now available via an API? No sir, not yet.

Q: Facebook Shop and Instagram Shop has a common database? (Catalog, etc etc) Yes sir

Q: What Messenger Integration we should implement with Facebook Shop? Let me think on this. I'll update here

The changes they have talked about, they have implemented them within Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram apps. They have not provided any APIs for these changes.

I have also gone through the all of the above links. I agree with all the points put forth by Imran regarding these.

I think eventually they will roll out the whatsapp shop feature and facebook shops in all the countries.

I was not able to understand real motive behind introducing cloud hosting services which will cost around 9 cents per message sent. I think we need to discuss this part as well to understand it correctly and see how it is different from current whatsapp charges.
