Priority Discussion #7496

These are my high-level thoughts

  1. Our focus should be on customer
  2. Our UI needs to be super simple
  3. ManyChat is going after complex use-cases and I am not sure we should copy and try to match them. They have a larger team. But regardless of the team size, I am not convinced what they are building is correct.
  4. They are offering email and SMS from ManyChat. We will never offer an email.
  5. Even they support sponsored messages from ManyChat. However, they are telling customers to use SMS and eMail if the message is outside 24 Hrs. So they may not be seeing traction in the sponsored message.
  6. It is not clear to me if people are using sponsored messages. Maybe it is too early.
  7. FB has changed the rules and there would be no free messages after 24 Hrs, expect for Subscribers.
  8. We will let ManyChat focus on complex use cases mixing SMS, Email, and Messenger. We will focus on simple use cases and simple UI.
  9. Our KiboChat is on par or better then Manychat we need to make sure it remains ahead of them.
  10. They have given up “Subscription” we will pursue it.
  11. They have a much bigger team with us and the question is who do we beat them?
  12. We will beat them by integrating with other vendors who have best in class product and leveraging it.
  13. They are taking an approach to build everything we would not build everything we would take the integration approach.
  14. So instead of building our own email, we would integrate with a couple of best in class email vendors.
  15. So instead of building our own chatbot, we would integrate with DialogFlow.
  16. They are not focussed on added value from the data. We need to look into Google App Maker and provide finished Apps from Google App maker.
    1. Examples of App Maker: Extract Data from Shopify and KiboPush and provide an integrated business view.
    2. If we have Shopify Catalog on App Maker why we cannot send Messages from App Maker
    3. If we cannot allow sending email from App Maker
    4. Example of App Maker: Extract Data from Hotspot and KiboPush and provide an integrated business view.
    5. Excel Import and Export
    6. Example: Service Desk App with Google App Maker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=tgYYTD20mTE&feature=emb_logo
    7. https://www.appmakeruniversity.com/members-videos/
    8. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXzUOJYiXxgPUYN5kSQlNpg
  17. Nextstep with Google App Maker
    1. Watch and study in-depth Capability of App Maker (1-2 days)
    2. Recommend 2-3 App Maker Apps that we should build for the customer
    3. Do we need to buy any templates - recommend which one
    4. If we are building an App and it takes more then 2-3 days - them something is wrong.
    5. We would build a set of App Maker Modules and offer it to the customer.
  18. Challenges & Opportunity with App Maker and Dialog Flow
    1. Opportunity:
      1. We are using best in Class Product and as they enhance it we would benefit from it
      2. If the user uses DialogGlow for Google App Maker they would pay for computing and storage.
    2. Challenge:
      1. How do we explain to the user that he has to pay two places?
  19. We need to change the rules of the game with ManyChat. We cannot follow them and win.
  20. On KiboPush we continue and offer the product but new services would be built outside. (Messenger, WhatsApp, SMS are integral to KiboPush and KiboChat)

Our job is to come up with a strategy that we Win. :-)

There is some discussion around app maker in this. Do we need to do any further work in this issue?

As discussed on slack, I am closing this.
