nes red light turns on for 8 seconds then goes off, not working #1345

Hi all, I tried my nes mini with original 30 games and was working fine, but mine now has the red power light come on with no picture, then light shuts off after 8 seconds, any help at all please? Thanks. No error code, I used hacki from last year see. Done flash and upload roms, even tried to reflash it etc and nothing, new re-release model. Any help please, thanks.

Firstly, you need to get it back up and running. Use the same hakchi version you used to mod it. In Hakchi2 click the kernel menu then "Uninstall", let the process complete. Then click "flash original kernel" (hopefully you dumped and saved your kernel beforehand?).

That will remove all mods and get you fully back to stock. You could also use the factory reset option in the SNESC options after, but you will lose your save states.

Let us know if that gets you up and running again first, before you try and mod it again. I have the new 2018 version and haven't had any issues modding, flashing back, etc.

Will this 100 percent work? any reason why power light goes on when connected to tv for around 8 seconds then powers of by it self? Is it bricked? Thanks for the reply.

Can't tell until you try it, but that is the standard procedure to get back to stock, and it can't be any worse than it already is can it? It is extremely difficult to fully brick both the NESC and SNESC. If the light is coming on then you're not bricked, it's only fully bricked if there is no power output from the device. If you need anymore advice I'd suggest posting on the Reddit thread, there are more devs on there that can help.

Thanks again, I just clicked the kernell and uninstall procedure, then clicked flash original kernel to. Plugged in the nes and light came on for 8 seconds and then light went off again. My mate thinks he flashed it and added games but forgot to originally click the dump and save original kernell procedure. is there anyway to get this back? thanks.

Without the original kernel you're stuck at the moment, he should have backed it up before modding it. I can't provide links to any kernels as Nintendo would not be happy with me! You'll have to Google for it, they are available. However, seriously consider looking through the reddit thread above, as there are loads of people and some devs on there who can get you back up and running. Provided you have power on the device, it's fixable.
