NES classic, Can't connect to a pc #1537

I picked up a really cheap NES classic (not working). from ebay. I wanted the case for a project, but before tearing it down I thought I would try to get it working. I'm guessing its been flashed wrong. But I can't get it to connect correctly

Normal power up ... red LED, but no picture. Loading mode .... I hold the reset, turn on, release reset ...The LED doesn't light up, but it does connect to the pc ("nes mini" in device manager, showing a recognised and working) .........But no Hakshi program can find it!

Any help gratefully received

Hi!

It's strange. Can you check VID and PID of NES Mini in device manager? Which version of hakchi2 are you using?

newby1976 commented 3 years ago

Don't really understand what your asking .... but found this in the "nes mini" in device manager ...... "Device USB\VID_1F3A&PID_EFE8\6&61bf49f&0&2 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match." Hakchi, I tried an earlier version (from a youtube link) .... then found 3.8.0 ... none find the mini

Just seen this also ... Digital signer: USB\VID_1F3A&PID_EFE8 (libwdi autogenerated)

deleted the driver and started again with 3.8.0 ... but now have another issue.... now when I click synchronise, it looks like it working, .. but it hangs on the second reboot, and I get a message saying the reboot taking too long.

should windows recognise the mini when powered on? ..... mine only shows in windows when in the recovery mode.
