Auto Add boxart (Google feature getting timeout from the Netherlands)

I tried to use the "Google" function, but somehow I never get any results (just white screen). I found a GitHub repo which has A LOT (if not all) box arts, which is much better then using the Google function. The currently-completed archives of console game art:

• SNES
• Sega Genesis / Sega Master System

• NES

  Adding this auto add boxart from the repo to hakchi2 would be MUCH useful!

There is a folder in the hakchi2 folder called art. The read me in that folder: "Copy your box art set here in PNG or JPEG format, and hakchi2 will look here when adding games. If it finds a box art filename that matches the ROM filename or starts with the ROM CRC32 checksum, hakchi2 will automatically use that box art for the game."

Additionally, I regularly use the Google function, and have no issue. It may take a few seconds for images to load, but the results are usually spot on.

I tried everything, couldn't get the Google search to work. Renaming all files according to rom filename is also a pain in the *ss :( I still hope that this requested feature will be added :(

I have art in the art folder, names match the roms identically, but it still doesn't add the art when importing the game in to hackchi

@HtheB are you still having trouble with the google search. I can't reproduce the issue. It works fine for everyone as far as I've seen. If you still have a problem, what country are you in?

It was with all the versions (even the latest) that l I've tried. Is there a debug version to see what it tries to do?

Hello all..

I have tried using the latest three debug versions to download automatically the box art of all the games and the google search all result into a "Not found" or "the underlying connection was closed".

I also tried downloading all the art work into the art folder.. renamed all to match the rom names and did the download of the box art but it still does not find any.

Can this be fixed.. I can't go through the 927 games one by one to art the art work manually. Thanks

What I tend to get is a remote server error 404 when using google to find the box art. if that helps anyone diagnose things
