[Idea]: Remove pause in between rounds #6

Open ShawnFumo opened 1 year ago

ShawnFumo commented 1 year ago

Please explain your idea/feature request

Doing multiple rounds doesn't seem useful right now, because of the pause in-between. Generally you'd go straight from the exhale into the next inhale, in any examples I've seen online.

Why would you like to see this incorporated?

Just doesn't seem useful, since I'd usually do 4-16 rounds with each one flowing into the next.

Do you have capacity to develop this yourself?

No

Thanks for opening an issue, @ShawnFumo! Just to confirm, is the suggestion to remove the pause in between or to remove multiple rounds?

Hi! Thanks a lot for this extension @ClydeDz. Apparently, it's currently the only one around when it comes to the 4-7-8 Breathing technique 👏🏾

I came here to pretty much request this same enhancement. What I currently do is to exhale the extra 3-4 seconds while waiting for the next round, which is not ideal.

So it has become a 4-7-12 breathing 😅

Just to confirm, is the suggestion to remove the pause in between or to remove multiple rounds?

Since @ShawnFumo hasn't replied, I believe the suggestion is to remove the pause in-between. I've checked out the code and I figured I can implement that.

My only question is, would it be ideal to allow the user to activate "No pause between rounds" with a checkbox or should we remove pauses altogether?

Let me know what you think before I take it on.

@nickdotht, thanks for the feedback and for choosing to improve this extension! 🎉

Hmm, that makes sense. I tend to awkwardly exhale or relax during that pause in between as well. Although, I remember adding this feature because my early user suggested it.

With a public extension like this, it's really difficult to gauge if users would be better suited without that pause, but then I also don't have too many people suggesting removing the pause. A bunch of people in the wellbeing community have been using this regularly (that I know of) and have also not (yet) suggested removing the pause.

I'm leaning towards leaving this issue open and seeing if there are more upvotes for this. If there are, then I'm more than happy for you to contribute. The last thing I'd want is for you to spend time developing something which we're both not 100% sure of, in terms of the wider demand.

How does that sound?
