brain-view2 is used to view MINC obj surface files. It is currently not part of the minc-toolkit. We could perhaps ask that it be included, and/or build it ourselves. Instructions: https://wiki.phenogenomics.ca/display/MICePub/brain-view

Yeah, and I had trouble getting quarter to build, and had to give up before I left.

Got it configuring properly by grabbing the latest source from bitbucket, which is still really really old..

Now fails at ../../../Coin3D-quarter-a941589f50f9/src/Quarter/QuarterWidget.cpp:973: error: 'SbByteBuffer' was not declared in this scope

Build still a mess, stole your prepackaged version

prepackaged version didn't run on compute nodes due to glibc differences, built all the dependencies of brain-view2, ugh this is "new?" it depends on minc-tools....
