GitHub friendly documents #1

Problem

Currently we are creating our documents in Office (Word, Excel, etc.) in a Teams group. While this is great for internal people at Aalborg University and the industry partners, it is not so great for collaboration with contributes on GitHub, as they currently do not have access to the editable documents without creating them from scratch from the released pdfs.

Furthermore, maintaining traceability between the documents is also an error prone and work intensive task in word documents.

Enhancement

We would greatly appreciate suggestions for an alternative system where the editable documents are in text form (for example) based on Latex, which would make it easier to collaborate on GitHub and facilitate merging of changes.

Ideally if the proposed system could include a build system that automatically builds all documents into pdfs and update the links between them then that would be a great improvement.

Suggestion: How about Overleaf?: https://www.overleaf.com/learn/how-to/How_do_I_connect_an_Overleaf_project_with_a_repo_on_GitHub,_GitLab_or_BitBucket%3F AAU has professional access, which gives the access to the github integration. (I don't have personal experience with the github/overleaf integration, only with 'standalone' Overleaf)
